Hi, I'm Natalie and I have been with Downtown Hound since February 2008.  I will graduate from BSU in December with a degree in Criminal Justice.

What I likes about my job:  Watching the dogs interact and play together, along with seeing the different doggy personalities.  I also enjoy cuddling with the dogs during their breaks from play time.

What I dislike about my job:  All the fur in my coffee!




Hi, I'm Gwen. I am a senior at BSU and I have lived in Idaho for 4 years.  That's me and my pug Newman.  I am a big pug lover.  Chances are if you bring in your pug, it will be in my lap. 

The thing I love best about Downtown Hound is snuggling with your dogs. 

The only thing I don't like is the gas!  Peeyoo!





Hi, I'm Shelley.  If you have been to Downtown Hound, chances are you've seen me and my crazy pug Livvy at the front desk.  I've been working here about 4 years. 

My favorite part about my job is watching all the dogs progress from being timid and anxious to happy and outgoing. 

My least favorite part is having all my jeans shredded by "crazy" Livvy!





Hi, I'm Aubrey.  I've been working at the Downtown Hound for about 2 1/2 years now.  Tori, my doberman has been coming here for daycare for about 5 years!  When I'm not at work, I'm a student at BSU majoring in biology. 

My favorite thing about working here is helping dogs with separation anxiety come out of their shells by giving them a place to play and feel safe when their owners are away.

My least favorite thing is stepping in poo!




Hi, I'm Wendy and I've been working at the downtown hound for about 5 months.  That's me and my quirky dog Penny Lane.  I'm a sophomore at BSU working toward a bachelors in secondary education/history. 

What I love most about my job is getting to observe the phenomena of dog relationships and watching dogs be social. 

What I dislike is being covered in hair and slobber at the end of the day, but I wouldn't have it any other way!



Hi, I'm Destiny.  I have been working at the Downtown Hound for 2 years!  I have two dogs, Riley and Rosco who love to play here while I am working.  I am a senior at BSU majoring in Psychology and looking forward to graduating! 

My favorite thing about working here is catching a dog doing something really funny.  They constantly make me laugh. 

My least favorite thing is when dogs move away.




 Hi, I'm Tracy, the owner of Downtown Hound.  I opened the business as Hounds Lounge in October of 2002.  We were the first doggie daycare to open in Boise.  The name was changed to Downtown Hound due to trademarking issues with a company in California.  I am a graduate of Michigan State University with a Bachelors degree in advertising.  I worked in advertising for 12 years before cashing in my chips to open the Hounds Lounge.

I discovered doggie daycare while working in Seattle where I relied on a wonderful facility for my weimaraner Cruiser.  I moved back to Boise and couldn't find anywhere that I felt comfortable leaving him, so after checking out other doggie daycares from Seattle to Los Angeles, I moved back to Boise and opened my own.

What I love most about running a daycare is meeting & falling in love with so many very different dogs!  Some of our customers run right in and start playing, while others take a little more coaxing.  Even those that don't play like to hang out on the benches and relax.  It's a wonderful feeling to provide a safe & fun environment for dogs in what could otherwise be a stressful time (when their owners leave town).

What I dislike most is meeting some of these wonderful dogs and having them move away.  It's very sad.
